Near the town of Vlasenica, along the main road Vlasenica – Han Pjesak, you’ll find the ski center Igrišta, named after the highest peak of this mountain at 1406 meters above sea level. The Igrišta Ski Center was built during the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics as an auxiliary ski center, with the small Igrišta located at an altitude of 1,331 meters, while the highest peak of the large Igrišta is at 1,405 meters.
The Olympic Center Jahorina has taken over the management of the ski center (Last year, the Government of the Republika Srpska decided to transfer the Igrišta ski center to the Olympic Center Jahorina for a period of 30 years, without compensation).
Reconstruction of the entire ski resort will include the installation of a new artificial snow system, three ski slopes, the construction of a six-seater chairlift, artificial snow lake, conveyor belts, tubing tracks, entertainment facilities, parking areas, administrative buildings, construction of hangars for snow groomers with storage space, ski bistro and restaurants at the starting and ending stations of the six-seater, procurement of new snow groomers for grooming ski slopes, construction of a clinic and facilities for mountain rescue service, procurement of other equipment and safety signage for skiers on the ski slopes, as well as all other accompanying facilities within the ski center.
The Igrišta Ski Center will have three ski slopes illuminated for night skiing, with a total length of 4,750 meters, a six-seater chairlift with a length of 820 meters and a capacity of 3,500 skiers per hour, two conveyor belts each 150 meters long. In addition to all winter activities on the ski slopes, summer activities are also planned.
